       How does everyone handle the whole Santa situation with their children?I'd rather not lie to the little people and keep consumerism low in our whānau but also don't want them to feel like they miss out on fun stuff.#parenting #NewDad

       @pezmico We treat it as a rite of passage. We celebrate everything and drop some subtle hints about the implausibility of it all while playing along. If and when the small one asks explicitly whether Santa is real, she gets the real answer. I think it is actually part of growing up that they make the breakthrough realisation themselves, kinda like an inoculation against uncritically believing everything later in their life.
