Hey, remember when we learned that a right-wing terrorist network extensively planned a violent coup to overthrow the German government and constitution and establish a reactionary, ethnic nationalist, authoritarian monarchy with them as its leaders, and this network included members of the German judiciary, the police, one of its major political parties, the army, and members of the bourgeois (and formerly royal) societal elite? That was earlier this week.

@historleans Okay but seriously, as an academic, why would you choose to go on the Wild West part of the Internet? Academics live very sterile lives. I'm not sure what people told you about the fediverse, that it's free of Nazis and whatever else you might not want to rub shoulders with online, but it's actually way, way more unrestrained and "free speech" than anything Elon Musk would allow. I could go on a massive tirade full of racial slurs and anti-semitic conspiracy theories and whatnot, and you would actually have less recourse here than you would on Twitter. So why are you here? I'm sure you don't approve of that kind of content
