@sunbearshaman neat! That looks like a shape mod of a 1x2x3. But it’s hard to tell with just one pic

@grapedrink Yes that looks right, this one just has the smallest side shrunk to zero-width stickers. Which, thinking mathematically begs the question "how many stickers can be removed (shrunk) from an axbxc cube while still preserving isomorphism?" I don't have a way to calculate the number of stickers from a, b, and c yet so there's a lot to think about.

@grapedrink I guess you can only shrink away a single-square row, so one of the variables a,b,c will have to be restricted to 1 for the question to work at all.

@sunbearshaman I tell you what, you handle the creation of the puzzles and the math, and I’ll handle the solving. 🤣🤣I really enjoy shape mods. I currently own two 3x3 shape mods. It’s interesting how one doesn’t alter the solving at all and one increases what you must do to solve it and is more challenging.

@sunbearshaman have you seen anything about the mathematics behind the 3x3? This video presents a few. https://youtu.be/f-rjR0lUDmg

@grapedrink woah that tetrahedron is crazy! I've never seen anything like that.I've never successfully solved anything bigger than the 1x2x3 but now I'm thinking I should learn how.

@sunbearshaman a) fuck yes you should learn how to solve a 3x3. I can recommend a good budget cube and point you in the direction of some tutorials that will help. Trying to figure out how to solve one by yourself is possible but extremely challenging. B) the tetrahedron puzzle is called a Mastermorphix. It functions exactly like a 3x3. But, since the unique shape has center pieces with two colors, proper center orientation, something completely irrelevant on a 3x3, is essential for solving.

@sunbearshaman moyu rs3m 2020. Yes, there are better cubes out there but not for $10. I’d strongly advise NOT going to Walmart/target and buying a Rubik’s brand cube. You’ll be much better off with a Chinese cube. If you really want to extend the life of your cube and have a pleasurable experience, I would do the lubricant add-on option. Lube is good. Also can find it on Amazon. https://speedcubeshop.com/products/moyu-rs3-m-2020-3x3?variant=31829466546289
