       People aren't recognizing that the conservatives are remaking Canada to accept a devastating authoritarianism. It should be all over the media. We need national general strikes.        If you hear Harper's* right use the word "democracy", know that some forms of so-called "democracy" mask autocratic regimes. For example, Russia has a "managed democracy".* He's still a paid Sask Party consultant afaik while being Chairman of the IDU, which should be huge news.

       This is why I have no patience for politically left commentary that frames Moe, Smith, Ford and others as bumbling or incompetent. They are doing exactly what is required of them, and they are succeeding at dismantling our established institutions quite handily. This is surgical.

       What sparked this thread? This Harper tweet thanking Moe for speaking at the IDU Forum in the US this last week. Our Conservative leaders gladly work with the global right to push for authoritarianism under prettier names that only sound like democracy.
