@stux I think both Unity and Unreal serve different purposes. I used both and I prefer Unity (might be a bit biased).

@stux They're both great. All depends on what you need it for, and your planned distribution method.Unity is better/more lightweight on mobile. Unreal scales up better.

@stux As far as I heard from Bilgem Çakır (he is CEO of a game company in my country. He was also in the crew that developed DirectX) when he talked about his latest project; there is not so much difference between two platforms. However even though he prefers to use Unity he pointed that its lack of support to developers Unreal due to two companies business models. Hopefully u choose best fit for ur needs!

@stux I would go with Unity, but it's simply because I already work a C# dev and this should get me going faster.

@stux Check out https://needle.toolsThey let you work in Unity but you export directly to a three.js/WebXR based cloud app.Works from any browser. Supports AR/VR, multi user, voice chat and much more. They are currently working on adding support to Blender to do the same, and will support UE5 as well.Follow @marwi to keep in the loop.

@stux UE is good for lighter projects but has lots of weird quirks. I remember a bug from like 1996 wiping all my temp save files from like a week back because daylight savings time switched over, took them like a decade to figure it out and patch itUnity is good for simple projects or if you're willing to roll up your sleeves and fab your own modules for it. At that point you can make it as good as you're willing to make it. too many devs attracted by the small-shop-friendly price structure just plug anything and everything in and make a horribly inefficient piece of garbage because, well, they can

@stux depends a lot in what you want to do, also godot 4 is looking promising as an alternative to unity

@stux it really depends on what you want to do.Unreal is primarily just a render engine, which does allow for far more flexibility, but requires far more hands-on to get something done.Unity is basically absurdly accessible (only some level editors like Roblox are easier) and has not only a feckton of things integrated, but far more affordable & free stuff to get started fast.
