@th1rd This is the perfect example to show people how much Wikipedia is a shitshowThe government accessing internal company contact to censor is a fucking scandal, it's not a "nothing burger" like these idiots are writingThis also shows that Wikipedia's "trusted source" thing is a complete shitshow. This is exactly what happens when the press collude to not cover a story

@coolboymew @th1rd The #GamerGate article made it very clear how Wikipedia works, i.e. that it's nothing but leftist propaganda that deems "unreliable" any source contradicting the Narrative.Never ever donate money to those scumbags.

@th1rd https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AxtypXLSl0https://vid.puffyan.us/watch?v=4AxtypXLSl0From my point of view wikipedia is technically a success, but from a human perspective it's a failure because as always validation of information demands to be done by a human.

@beardalaxy It's so sad because it should have been this beautiful example of distributed cooperation, and probably 90% of what's on there is good and well researched.. but that part just goes to make the corruption all the more sinister

@mangeurdenuage @th1rd i thought this looked interesting so i pulled it up to “like” it to find after work, and i see i already liked it sometime in the distant past. 😅 so thanks for helping me rediscover something i wanted to watch. also to not add a completely useless reply, go look up wikimedia’s annual revenue and how much they drop on brownnosing their (real) donors. they don’t need my $2.

@ChristiJunior @th1rd @coolboymew Wikipedia is a factory of bullshit that disgustingly pretends to be "neutral". Every single socially relevant article in there is compromised. You might be interested in this https://digdeeper.club/articles/wikipedia.xhtml

@coolboymew @th1rd I had no idea what this “Pizzagate” thing was until I read the Wikipedia article. That alone immediately confirmed to me there was something to this, whatever it was. It was Damage Control: The Article. Judgmental language and some of the most professional (style, not quality) formatting I’ve seen made it unlike any other article on their site. After that, I haven’t been surprised by any overt attempts to control the narrative on there. Then there’s that WebM of the Israeli workshop on editing Wikipedia. 🙄

@mangeurdenuage @th1rd “Technical success.” I’d agree, if the Wiki format was at all enjoyable to use. Maybe it allows for easy editing, but it’s been a very limited way of organizing and presenting information, especially complex data of any scale.

@digdeeper @ChristiJunior @coolboymew @th1rd Just another propaganda outlet that only accepts information approved by other propaganda outlets. That's almost all of the internet now. It's not all that easy to find real information out there, especially if you don't know the terms to search for.

@digdeeper @ChristiJunior @coolboymew @th1rd This reminds me of something. It reminds me of Mozilla, because it's similar. In a way I have a special kind of hate for Mozilla and Wikipedia, even compared to Google and Microsoft. They are somehow more disgusting, because they pose as heroes and claim to be virtuous and claim to stand for the things that they do everything destroy. Additionally, they weren't always like this, so they really feel like traitors. They disgust me more than organizations that are more transparently evil. If they just said "yeah, we want to manipulate people and fuck up their lives, and take all of their property, torture them, rip their organs out and then roast them to death", I would have at least some respect for that, because I could respect the honesty. They would be as evil as they are right now, but at least they would be honest about being evil, so they would have one virtue, as opposed to zero.

@TerminalAutism @ChristiJunior @th1rd @coolboymew @digdeeper I kinda hate thisThere's no "transparently evil" people. Some are legit too dum to conceal it, or deluded maybe, but that's it. No cartoon villains. If it's out there it's either leaked, pieced together with hard work, or they think it's fine."I hate those mozilla people, I much prefer google attacking me with privacy policy popups stating they've got my shoe number" - man at the end of his wit

@mangeurdenuage @th1rd Quite a while ago. Are you saying it’s fine because it mirrors the design and function of a physical encyclopedia? Because my point of it being a poor way of organizing comprehensive volumes of information and also not being fun or enjoyable to use still stands. I’d love to come across or rediscover other ways of organizing and presenting info on topics that is well-researched and has effective brevity.
