@verita84 @alex @jeffcliff If you care about camera quality enough that this is a thing you consider, seriously just grab a fucking basler already. It's only a few hundred dollars for the camera itself, and you get so much more out of it than you will out of any consumer grade trash.

@verita84 @ceo_of_monoeye_dating @alex * ~90% of my pictures are blurry if i don't use the flash. If i use the flash I get about 10ish pictures then I need to physically replace the batteries. The batteries do not charge on USB* about 2 megapixels* you can't choose what to focus on. It tries to guess and usually guesses wrong.things on pretty much any android post 2012 are pretty much unequivocally better on every dimension than the old digital cameras

@verita84 @alex @ceo_of_monoeye_dating ...and it's better in principle than my last digital camera which was only ~1 MP (though I miss the fact that its focus was set manually, even if it was a PITA to focus it)...which in turn was miles better than having to go to a photo developing lab every 30 pictures or whatever for my previous film camera...which was, in turn, better than the cardboard cameras with non-removable film that i would sometime get before that.

@verita84 @alex @ceo_of_monoeye_dating also worth pointing out though i didn't realize it at the time* It takes *time* to turn the phone on, boot it up (and then select the mode appropriate to what you want to take a picture of)a cellphone is trivial to turn the camera mode on by comparisoni have yet to get a picture of my gf because it is so slow she always figures out i'm about to snap a picture of her and has time to hideprobably 99% of things you'd ever want to take a picture of you have to be ready, at the right moment with the camera in a stable position (which stabilizing software makes easier on smartphones). ie you miss 99% of the shots you don't take
