       World Soil Day Monday 5 December. Nothing leaves our 1/4 acre section, excepting that which is flushed down the toilet (yes, I'd like to fix that); all the carbon sequestered here remains here.

       @cousinsd I feel like it's too much work to do such a clean pile when everything does compost eventually. I just throw organic material the the feet of fruit trees and free spaces in the garden. People are too hard working for me !

       @otyugh Fair call; but there are good reasons for creating and maintaining ideal conditions for thermophilic bacteria. Not least of which is to speed up the composting process in order to preserve the scarce "free space" in our garden. Work is a method to maintain my gentle grip on sanity. Bon jardinage!
