Here's an interesting cyberpunk question. Are maxtac evil?I mean they only seem to concern themselves with cyberphychos and those are a threat to everyone in the area. Even if they are taking some of them in and making them their own is that a bad thing?

Cyberpunk is a tabletop role-playing game in the dystopian science fiction genre, written by Mike Pondsmith and first published by R. Talsorian Games in 1988. It is typically referred to by its second or fourth edition names, Cyberpunk 2020 and Cyberpunk Red, in order to distinguish it from the cyberpunk genre after which it is named.

@Rasp they could try to deal with them in a non-letal and try to rehabilitate them, as seen in the Regina questlines instead of just straight up murder them. if they can help them, the only way to reinserting they have is them joining their ranks, because nobody is better qualified for ending up psychos. I'd say they are no better, no worse than average militares. Are they good? well, they could but usually they aren't

@littletranspunk I mean they've probably killed a dozen people before they got to that point by the time maxtac shows up there is usually a pile of bodies that says "yeah this monster really deserves a bullet"

@Rasp no, but they don't turn cyberpsychos because they want... usually they are ex corpos fucked up by corps and discarded when broken. I think they are victims of the rotten world. you won't let them go free roam and murder but I don't think ending their lifes is the choice, specially when there are alternatives

@Rasp I would like to present the 'orphan crushing macine' theology, which is all for cyberpunk as a whole.Every big group makes money at the expense of others. If they're poor they turn to crime, if they turn to crime they need better chrome, if they need better chrome they move closer to cyberpsychosis.Remove the money part of the equation and maxtac doesn't exist. I don't blame maxtac, i blame the money that makes it "essential", making all others like it evil

@Rasp@raru.re I think one of the best things about the Cyberpunk universe is that the complete lack of clearly good and evil factions. Every faction has a purpose in the world but they also have a lot of problems.

@Rasp @kogomi Generally I would argue that "acceptable" use of lethal force does not depend on what someone did, but on what kind of danger someone poses.As in potential damage multiplied by probability. If someone kills other people for a very constrained reason (e.g. revenge for a loved one), that decreases the danger compared to "likes to go on murder sprees every few weeks".
