My wife is yelling at me. She sent me to get a Christmas 🎄. She didn't want to go but she gave me a bunch if instructions. Whose gonna remember all that shit. So I came home with an 11 foot tall tree thats very fat. I thought it was a bargain at only 150 bucks. Carrying into the house almost killed me, sure. But it will look good.

@Phil @MMA We would have paid about $35 just a few years ago. But . . . CoBiden. I'd decorate tree limbs before I'd pay those outrageous prices. Sometime, just because it's fun to do, I cut a Charlie Brown tree from the property instead of buying. Tough to decorate, but sweet and festive.

@Phil that's a big tree... Going to need more than 1,000...lol. Also make sure you run the lights way in near the trunk or your going to have to tear them off and re-do them... Might have happened to me once or twice... Just saying...

@Candlelight @MMA I have been paying 85 or so for years for an 8 foot Frasier fur. They had those for 95. But once you get over 8 feet the prices jump quick.

@Bubber_Dude it gets more tempting to do that every year. It seems like the keep getting heavier. Good news is I found another string of 250 lights so I'm up to 2325, I think that will be ok.

I ran into a stability problem. The stand we have obviously want made for such a monster of a tree. I couldn't go buy another one without having to endure the wrath of wife, so I went down to my shop and cut thin strips of wood and screwed them to the stand so they stick way out flat against the floor. They effectively doubled its width and solved the problem. Now back to the lights.

Good thing wifey got home when she did. I was going tobuse white lights but she informed me that our kids extracted a promise from her to use colored lights. So 1350 colored lights are now on and the tree is in its final spot. That last part was rough. Now I'm gonna take a nap. Wifey said I win and I can call the kids off. I told her to mark it on the calendar.

So getting the tree top on was very difficult the bottom of the tree is so fat, I couldn't reach the top from the ladder. I eventually got it on. I also got the train set up to circle the bottom of the tree. Meanwhile wifey did this to the dining room table
