       What drives me nuts on #Mastodon - the use of the two words "boosting" and "reblogging" for the same action.  Shouldn't it just be "retooting"?

       @bruno different names within same apps bother me extremely. On top, it should be consistent across Mastodon, so we all understand each other. We don't go around calling it the fediverse on one app, and the foosnakrgargl on the other. Because clearly it isn't helpful. One expression per concept, per language, across all of #Mastodon.

       @katrinbretscher Within one app, I'm with you, there should be a consistent naming. In different (Mastodon-)apps it's already difficult, as long as there are no "style" guidelines. And who should make them?As soon as you leave Mastodon itself into the Fediverse there is a whole other universe with it's own naming within their apps.

       @bruno Yes. I don't have a solution. But I do think developers should strive to work towards what everybody converges to. I'm on mastodon.social, and even there, it's both "reblogging" and "boosting". This is not about "but everybody can do what they want". We do need a common language, if the different instances should interact not just technically, but socially.
