I've seen some folks talking about AI stuff like Open AI as if it's bad and needs to be blocked or content-warning'd.What is the reason for this? I'm genuinely curious.

@cb You mean other than it's not really actually making a creative effort on it's own, just stealing material from its training database?

@BalooUriza yeah that's totally valid. I'm mostly thinking about it in terms of art - like a collaboration between an artist and a machine - but then again the stuff I do like that isn't even close to "AI" it's just generative

@cb Even with art, it's just mashing up stuff it's already seen, not coming up with new stuff. Even with a database of 55k+ to work with, https://thisfursonadoesnotexist.com/ has some literally recognizable fursonas, sometimes with artist signatures still in tact.It's just super good at plagerism.

@cb Yeah, I honestly didn't get what people were talking about very much until I saw "this fursona doesn't exist" and I was like "Uuh, yeah, like a third of these definitely do exist, and like 8 of these I recognize as my friends fursonas"
