I logged onto #twitter. That was a mistake. This whole #hunterbiden laptop story is maddening.I agree Dems are shady and probably did work to surprise the story. But real important issues get surprised all the time. #climate #palestine #labor #railroadworkers is almost impossible to findBut we are instead being told on Twitter that we need to hear more from Nazis and racists beachside of “free speech”

@dmb677 I am not a nazi or racist. You make this look like a non-issue. But is interfering in an election a non-issue?And how long will this be ok to label dissent as nazi or right wing extremism?If we are all human beings caring for our well-being and that of our loved ones, we should be much more careful in using these terms.

@love_create I agree, the hunter Biden laptop story was suppressed. Not just at #twitter but in many mainstream media outlets.The point I am making is that what is suppressed and what is boosted on Twitter is completely an opaque process. Currently and before #elonmusk. We know Elon is currently banning and shadow blocking many left wing groups. it is a selective leak designed to make elons enemies look bad. No doubt the Bidens suck. But Elon is also a bad faith actor

@dmb677 Ok, well, maybe, I am not aware of shadow banning or blocking of left wing groups. But I am just a foreign bystander feeling vindicated to some degree that social media became very obviously a tool of censoring people and manipulating them feeding them the covid lie and all these inhumane containment meassures. Feeling so sick about that I feel relieved by what Elon did.

@dmb677 Maybe, that could very well be. I stayed up late to watch the tweets here in Germany. And in doing so, I was wondering what it is that this story is maybe designed to distract us from. Nevertheless, it is a damn good story.

@love_create I do think it is an important story. And I agree the media (all media not just twitter blocked it)But if Twitter is so committed to open and transparent communication. Then why don’t they just make their process for what is banned and what is promoted transparent.Because Elon is engaged in the same exact stuff he is accusing others of doing. And Elon has complete control over #twitter he is not accountable to any democratic processes.

@dmb677 Well, I think Elon has a lot on his plate if his is in complete control over all of twitter. I guess time will tell, but maybe he is not able to do alll at once. Regarding distraction, I meant now the media is ignoring this twitter files story. At least as far as I can see here in Germany. Is it being reported in the US?

@dmb677 To me there is a very stong line between free speech and calling for acts of violence, be it against people or things. On a brief glance, that is exactly what crimethinc seemed to do. They say they did not have a problem all those years on twitter before, but what does that mean? Maybe twitter was condoning violence before?In the article it says: "Musk’s rhetoric about making Twitter a venue for “free speech” was a lie. Musk bought Twitter in order to impose his agenda on what he saw as the most influential social media platform remaining outside the control of people like himself. Like Donald Trump, Musk brazenly says the opposite of what he means, and his supporters interpret this as a show of strength."Well, that is their right to think and say, but is it really so? I remember the antifa once being a movement acting in remembering crimes during the nazi period in Germany, remembering the victims and uncovering actions by others that indicate a return to and support of that ideology. But what has the antifa become or turned into? A movement of people that act violently at any G7-summit destroying peoples businesses, supporting zero covid strategies and demonizing people protesting these measures and policies? The antifa has become a joke and ridiculous movement in my eyes. They proclaim to are anti-fascist, but they are ok or in favor with/of these evil policies. What a u turn is that? I have no sympathy for this kind of behaviour. I think this movement is hacked, infiltrated by 3 letter agencies or what ever. In what way are they any better in using violence than what they act against? I can't see it. In essence they are promoting war and hatred and they do not offer a solution to our pressing questions.
