@stux In other breaking news: Grass is green! What I’m having a hard time coming to terms with: Why are people even using TikTok? I guess for the same reason Germany made itself dependent on Russian gas: Too many people are too blind to see the obvious.

@stux some users don’t realize it’s not only app specific data they capture. They basically suck data from your phone and elsewhere. This is what they admit to, but there is probably much more.Scary stuff in the fine print https://www.tiktok.com/legal/page/eea/privacy-policy/enAnd this

@stux when I deleted my TT acct recently, it asked me to choose 1 of my online accts to complete the process. Then, a small popup window w/ a message stated that my data will be shared to a 3rd party and I said to myself wtf? The only option I had was to click ok. 🙄

@stux potentially a good thing - in the internet era, China's government implements the Mao Zedong "Mass Line" policy of gathering public opinion & responding with tweaks to policies largely by social media. One of the biggest threats to world security is American aggression. China would do well to gauge public attitudes outside of China to counter propaganda and manufacture of consent for war.
