       @pinkunz As much as I want to switch to an EV with a long range (>= ~280 miles / ~ 450 km), Tesla has never been on the short list because of the way El-Mu runs Tesla, his attitudes and the super strong cult vibes that grew around both after the launch of the first gen Model S.The only thing that like is their supercharging network (but not the vendor lock-in). The other charging networks are having significant teething pains, especially Electrify America.

       @qlpI've been considering the 2023 Chevy Bolt EV.Three reasons:1.) It's on the list of cars expected to qualify for the US Electic Car tax rebate of $7500 as of 01/01/2023.2.) It's one of 3 cars on that list for less than $40,000 USD.3.) Out of the three, it's the only one with more than 250 miles (~402km) of battery range.Before tax-rebate, the MSRP is $25,600 USD and the range is 259 miles (~417km).At an after tax-rebate cost of $18,100 USD, I'll live with the range.

       @pinkunz Yeah, I know there are quite a few options out there; along with those that can get close to 280 miles / 450 km range with good DC fast charging capabilities. I've been eyeing the Ioniq 5, EV6, Mach-E and a few others (as the Bolt EUV is on the older architecture with slower DC FC).Right now, it's timing (1-2 years) and figuring out charging (multi-family unit with no on-site charging options).

       @pinkunz The issue with no overnight charging (even with a granny lead) means that I am dependent on public charging stations. Right now, many EVgo and Electrify America stations aren't reliable enough to depend on.Again, I will not be purchasing a Tesla, even with their better charging infrastructure. The idea of giving them my money sickens me.
