Posting an update to my site. Went for a cyberpunk colour theme! If you have a moment, let me know what you think? (Obviously work in progress with some text placeholders, but otherwise the structure is there!)Thanks! #videogames #webdevelopment #webdesign

@nobushia Looks nice! Good colors! Main thing I'd suggest is an increase in text size to ease reading accessibility. Also use text-size to further differentiate headers from paragraphs.Add some padding to paragraphs and headers to make it look less 'tight'.And finally, though could be what you're going for and ignoring the first 'latest news' post lacks an image, you could try experimenting with a column format for that section, so everything does not look 'horizontally linear', so to speak.

@sagacyte Thank you for the feedback! Yep that paragraph of text without an image will be gone shortly! I also wondered about text size - I run at a higher resolution than 1920x1080, so I didn't want it to be gigantic on lower res screens. Do you mind if I ask what resolution you're running? I can bump it up for sure. Great feedback on the sizing differences between header text and regular text too, as well as padding. I really appreciate your thoughts, thanks again!

@nobushia You are welcome!I'm 1920x1080, though I have only seen the image you posted, thus not the 'real' web size.As for text sizes and lower resolution screens... add 'different shapes' (phones, tablets, etc) and you're in for the wonderful and wild ride of "media queries"! But if you don't want to open that can of worms**, you could experiment with using % as your font-size unit.** You'll need to deal with them eventually, though. They're kinda mandatory these days in web stuff :)

@sagacyte oh yeah I totally know what you mean about media queries and I am indeed building it for mobile too. I'm just running it on a local server at the moment, but I'll be uploading it soonish once I have more done and I can test it with other devices to get a better gauge as to what other people are seeing and adjust from there. Thanks again!

@nobushia Excellent! You probably already know this, but just in case: you can use your browser's inspector (such as "Ctrl + Shift + i" on Chrome) to get a not-100%-accurate-but-decent idea of how your site can look on other screen sizes!Good luck on your webscapades! ๐Ÿ˜

@nobushia Cool color scheme. ๐Ÿ™‚ My eyes kind of want the "Latest News" header to be at least equal or bigger than the content it's heading up. That's my only thought!

@nobushia I dig the color scheme. I feel like the directory links could be a little bigger? But that could be due to me checking this pic on my phone so my ability to enlarge it is limited. Thumbs up overall ๐Ÿ‘

@nobushia Oh look, there's a #birdsite link in the header. ๐Ÿคช Otherwise: the colorscheme is a bit hard on the eyes, IMHO. Which CMS are you using?

@raccoon haha totally fair - this is the cyberpunk theme for the site. Iโ€™ll have a more traditional theme people can pick from (and then I plan on introducing more variety later too once the site is up. For the cms I was going to use WP but I wanted to build it from the ground up so I built the structure in html and css and then include text files using php for the content across themes. Update news.txt (one file) and itโ€™ll update all news where that php include calls for it.

@nobushia Can't really recommend #wordpress. If you are on a VPS that CMS will bring it to its knees fast. As long as you don't need anything dynamic, I'd suggest giving Hugo a try (https://gohugo.io).

@nobushia Also: if dynamic content is needed, fatfree (https://fatfreeframework.com) is a nice, lightweight solution.
