@gigatexal as a Mac user I skipped that era of slotted CPUs. I went from a 120 MHz Pentium 1 to 733 MHz PowerPC G4.

@Eggfreckles holy smokes that's quite the jump! You ever get to own or use a G4 cube? That thing was the pinnacle of computing imo. An M1/2 pro-max-ultra version of that would absolutely scream!

@gigatexal I had a 66 MHz PowerPC 601 in-between, but that was more of a side-grade.I owned a Cube for a short time before I took it apart, and then used those parts to repair a friend’s Cube. The Mac Studio feels like the spiritual successor.
