@john hm, the dromaesaur disembowelment hypothesis now seems like a distant memory, yet I seem to recall it was still current (though criticized by some) when I first saw this poster?(Nothing wrong with having an older idea in a humorous poster, though.)

@john When you say velociraptor, do you really mean velociraptor (which I believe are only about a metre tall and 15kg and probably not a major threat to an adult human) or do you mean a deinonychus (two metres tall and about 90kg and very likely a major threat to any human)?Jurassic Park features the deinonychus, but Michael Crichton decided that "velociraptor" sounded sexier, so he simply relabelled the species for dramatic purposes. So beware before you place a purchase order.

@sebastien Yes indeed, we know that Velociraptor is deep within the groups we know to have feathers, very close relatives are preserved with feathers, and there are quill knobs (attachment points for feathers) on it’s forearm bones.

@john I think Lambeosaurus being loud would come in handy, when you are riding on it on Your commute to work. Just remember to wear ear protection. And Compsognathus being nippy would be great for protection against pickpockets and creepy guys with grabby hands. Also the trampling habits of Brachiosaurus would be great for Your commute to work. But yeah, the upkeep....

@john ah, all too often people get their kids a dinosaur for Christmas, only to leave them at a nearby park when they get too big to take care of, where they breed and overrun the local fauna. Tale as old as time.

@john My worry with the velociraptor isn't disembowelment exactly. But my daughter has an African Grey parrot, and although he's lovely, he's absolutely an avatar of chaos. Dinosaur intelligence is good at problem solving, but sometimes the problem is the mammals own a functioning computer keyboard or have foolishly forgotten to throw everything off the table.
