Ended up watching Ancient Apocalypse on Netflix then went to go see the reaction to it on twitter. Holy shit are Archeologists some of the most pissy faggots on earth. The news articles about the show calling it dangerous were fucking retarded but the archeologists on twitter reposting that article and screeching were something else. I've never seen a group that assblasted before. I was expecting them to refute things or point out were he was wrong and at most a few linked wikipedia but most just ranted about how it was a racist conspiracy theory. That's it, that's his whole premise. It's the reaction to it that's weird as fuck. He visits different sites and gives his interpretation of things so I expected archeologists and others to have counter points for them but instead they all said the show was dangerous and racist.

I worked with a woman who got her degree in archeology, she was a know-it-all pain in the ass, insufferable on almost ever level. Another woman told me they were all like that. Really put me off on the subject, noting like Indian Jones at all. I don't know which discipline I hate most, archeology or psychology. Skilled working people are still the best, and maybe most biologists and botanist, botanist are very cool. Probably cause, nature. The modern academics (including archaeology) are extremely ivory tower and insular. They are very petty and protective of their fiefdoms, always backbiting each other. From the sounds of it, most everything in the Netflix is insane garbage, but the academics hate the idea of an outsider acting like one our their group more than the theory he's saying. (Many of the academics have insane ideas too that they just can't publish and admit in private that they aren't always as confident as they claim.)Your expectation that they'd debate him is logical, since it would be easy to crush his ideas, but they are not that serious in scholarship anymore. And they think it's beneath them to debate an outsider. Modern archaeologists are not the quality of men like Howard Carter or Henry Fischer from of old. Now they yell at each other at conferences and complain about past giants of archaeology "stealing" artifacts from foreign locations in their digs, filling the museums they now get paid to oversee.

The Amazonians had tales of a race of pale people with beards (Amazonian Indians can't grow facial hair easily) who ruled the area in modern Peru and western Amazon basin in the generations before the Spanish arrived. A few generations before the Spanish, the Amazonian Indians rebelled and overthrew these people, according to the tribe elders. This is obviously not a super ancient civilization, but it was documented over 100 years ago. I actually believe it and would make sense if traders from the Mediterranean got blown out to sea and ended up in South America 1000 years ago.These isolated, regional civilizations and events make way more sense rather than a grand super empire from 10,000 years ago that oversaw everything that followed.

The simple theory of life being plastic to the environment it inhabits. There may have been cognitive traits of early man which had to be weeded out to to make an advanced society. Needless to say, this is the antithesis of the 2022 worldview. Tumblr activists have taken over the halls of Ivy League academia. There are 60 year old female professors with streaks of blue hair running around the most prestigious universities America produced.It's important to understand that a LOT of these professors' and archaeologists' money comes from research grants. Part of getting approved for those grants means always towing the party line, so they get used to knowing what to say and regurgitating it, because their paycheck depends on it. You don't get grants to research "crazy" ideas, ideas that you are unsure about, or ideas that go against a liberal world view. You better research something left-leaning that you are confident in, which a Obama/Biden appointee at the National Science Foundation or Department of the Interior or some liberal university agrees with. Like "Researching the environmental impact of human habitation and mining on Cyprus in the Late Bronze Age and what it tells us about man-made climate impact today".
