@izaya Is there some other compelling reason to buy from this Officeworks store then? That's a huge markup.

@skquinn big chain with a store nearby vs an online store in sydney, 800km away

@izaya That's rather odious markup, to be honest. Do you guys have stores like Best Buy or Micro Center? Or maybe even the Aussie version of Target (which I know is a completely different company)?

@skquinn Some of the big supermarkets have ethernet cables occasionally.I'm just gonna buy the cables online, but for little things it's a lot easier to get them locally, and they kill you by inches."Oh, what's $15 for an ethernet cable?" Double the price.

@izaya Supermarkets I wouldn't count on, but your electronics/computer stores should definitely carry them. Walgreens here in the US sometimes has them too, I'm not sure what the Aussie equivalent would be.

@skquinn (outside of the capital cities, anyway. there are some smaller chains that operate in sydney and brisbane but not out here in the sticks)

@izaya Ah. I can see how "out in the sticks" is probably the issue here.

@roboneko @skquinn I considered doing that but I was never very good at crimping cablesI could get twice the cable for the same price though, so that's certainly appealing

@izaya wait, you're paying more than $1/m for ethernet cables?
