@RehnSturm256 I know why I'm slow. It's because I often start playing too many new games before finishing other ones that I was already playing, and a game that I've put many hours into that isn't completed never gets a checkmark on that list. Not to mention games that can't be completed because of their sandbox or multiplayer nature, which I also play a good deal of.I've conciously decided to not repeat the same mistake on my Nintendo Switch, but when I get home from work, and also often when I wake up in the weekend mornings, I default to starting my PC rather than my console, so progress is still very slow. I usually only get about five hours per week on my switch, and perhaps another five hours at most on games that can be completed on my PC.

Purists have complained about the localization changes, which is inevitable, but overall I quite liked the dialogue, and the way the characters carry themselves with dignity and nobility. @rlier23 @RehnSturm256 Also, doesn't the game's battle text use "decimate" a lot for "rout the enemy" maps? Either TS or Three Hopes does this. I DESPSE a term with such an interesting history as "decimate" being reduced to the umpteenth generic word for "destroyed", I hate that misuse of decimate almost as much as a I hate stuff like singular they (aka singular ghey).

The worst for me was Death Stranding DC for the ""cinematic"" priorities over gameplay (plus I didn't like much of the story). I didn't play as much since I had some other work in the way. I also wanted to upgrade my computer (and help a relative with his gaming PC). Additionally, I was curious to see how my PC handled some current year games (especially Control and Cyberpunk 2077), which it does well enough for 4K. Too bad they weren't all that fun to play.

@RehnSturm256 @rlier23 @ChristiJunior Part of progressive localization is to remove all gendered terms and conversations (unless of course it’s about a character being nonbinary or trans) relating to female characters especially, and the innate reality of being a woman (wanting to be a bride or preserve her chastity until she meets the man she loves are two big ones that localization teams like to cut) to try and make them read exactly the same as men. Xenoblade 3 does this in the original script but there it makes sense, since it’s in a world where men and women aren’t aware that there is any difference between men and women and it’s this whole scifi dark future thing. Jrpgs that are set in medieval-like settings like triangle strategy or fire emblem innately get hit worse by this particular kind of localization bullshit, or at least it feels worse. There are times when stuff will happen like a big bandit man accosts a pretty young woman alone in the woods and says “Yar im gonna take your money and then kill you but that’s it” when you damn well know in the original scene sexual violence was implied if not directly threatened. It makes current fantasy jrpg worlds feel much more stiff and unbelievable than they used to, and there’s no real reason for it other than all localization is done by faggots and they ruin everything.

@RehnSturm256 Indeed it did. My RTX 3080 was worthwhile for more than just games (see Stable Diffusion). I should add that I probably had the most fun with Sonic Frontiers only because I was mostly a sucker for the old 3D games (I used to play Adventure on the Dreamcast). Seeing a slight return to form did make me smile, even if the game itself certainly needs some refinements.

Paradoxically, they make reality more pronounced by trying to remove it. "They change THIS because the bandit definitely said THIS".Anyways, I ask about how the dialogue changes affect things like the story, drama, etc. Because I found over the years of trying different tactics srpgs that they really need a good story and intrigue to glue the slower gameplay - the genre is known for - together.

@okabe_rintarou * I've played Pokemon AS many times before, but because I was excited for the release of Pokemon Legends Arceus coming the next month, I decided to cozy up with that one. I hadn't tried shiny hunting in that game, and wanted to try it. It's probably my favorite game to hunt shinies because of the DexNav feature; it's the perfect balance of ease of use, challenge, & reward. :zt_naruhodo: While I'm not against emulators, especially for old consoles, I just haven't dedicated myself to checking them out. I'm sure someone has told me of an emulator site, but I keel procrastinating and forgetting about it. The PS2 thing has really shown me how emulators are important, original hardware won't last forever, and if an issue pops up you are dependent on sellers for parts of whole replacements.

I guess it's the thought of raising and bonding with a bunch of pets that also do battle. Shiny hunting let's you collect a rare and often cooler looking version.I was speedrunning the game at first to collect Pokemon you could only catch one of and in a single playthrough. I was registering them to the Pokemon HOME app.Word of advice though: Pokemon SwSh is terrible for speedrunning AND shiny hunting. Worse mechanics in the series :gura_pain: and the games themselves are overall pretty poor.

@okabe_rintarou * Pokemon Masters EX is a better gacha than I expected, but in the end it's still a mobile game. The art, animations, characters, & music are great, gameplay is good enough for what it is, and I played it off and on for about a week before being burnt out. Same with Pokemon GO, which I was using as a means to walk more outside before it got too cold. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend any mobile game unless it has cute characters you want to look at, then put away. I prefer full games, not mobile/gacha stuff :mokou_lying: I am reminded often of this.
