::: Snap package acceptance just keeps on growingSnap packages are now proving to be a savior like solution on critical applications, use cases and instances. DistroTube has just experienced first hand experience on rolling release dangers +he brings about the problems with Flatpak' naming issues. He explains thoroughly what happened to him and how he ended up as best friends with Snaps now. Very intriguing stuff!https://odysee.com/@DistroTube:2/arch-linux-updates-keep-breaking:c #Snaps #Linux #packages #packaging #management #LibreOffice #GIMP #snapd @distrotube

@LinuxYeah the flatpak naming convention needs work. 'com.Google.Chrome' is fine for internal use, but I need to be able to type 'flatpak install google-chrome' and have it install#Flatpak#NamingConventions

@Linux @distrotube if you ever find out what is the reason for your problems with arch it would be cool to get to know. I have seen crazy ways how arch broke but a generell instability over multiple packages without alot of users being vocal about , is usually an indication for a local system problem.

@Linux @distrotube Yah. But it felt so strange how Derek even liked #snaps even if it's backend is #proprietary & him being a huge #FOSS advocate.

@Linux @distrotube Did they every open the backend up? Snap is a nogo for me for that reason. https://bugs.launchpad.net/snappy/+bug/1593151
