       I mean, this isn’t twitter. You have no clout here.  No algorithm to push your clever, witty, provocative content to the head of the queue. I follow you, I expect a follow back.  And if your follow count is significantly less that your follower count you can be sure I’m just moving on.

       @fernby My friend Leo used to tell me (15 years ago) that your follower/follow count should be 1:1. Couldn't tell me why, though.

       @fernby That's a reasonable statement, but doesn't begin to cover reasons why I, for example, might choose not to follow someone who follows me.

       @Ricardus  each to their own, sure. But if you’re being followed by a thousand accounts and only following like five or ten yourself then there’s a problem there, for me at least.
