@boilingsteam @cosmoblivion probably because ubisoft games are somewhat stigmatized and unpopular due to same capture-the-tower kind of gameplay since far cry 3.

@hj @boilingsteam @cosmoblivion i did notice when i could still play their games that ubi games became all ... copies of one another. like wholesale recycling of mechanics across the franchises. like every one of their games is a unity asset flip from some private ubisoft-specific version of the store.

@boilingsteam @cosmoblivion @hj yup. value maximization for shareholders doesn't like experimentation. tis tragically why resident evil went from beloved puzzle games to trash shooters. they hit the market cap but VCs still want more. impossible ask.

@boilingsteam @cosmoblivion @hj i think they get away with it if you play too casually. if you just do far cry or splinter cell you won't notice how much got recycled. but i noticed the drones in watchdogs were the same as the drones in splinter cell and then even far cry to far cry was like a bad clone of the previous. including the defects people *didn't* like. like what the hell are they doing over there :blobcatwaitwhat2:
