@linmob I haven't been on twitter in years. That said, I have been enjoying the show. I don't think that twitter will completely crash and burn like a lot of people do, but I am glad that this has led to growth in the fediverse.

@linmob I never really used Twitter much so it effects me very little but my opinion on the topic is that I definitely won't use a platform that provides a platform for facists like Trump. If our main sources of information back anti democratic rulers we have a seriouse issue that could very well be a thread to our way of life.

@cyberspook @linmob Yes but those corners of the Fediverse are mostly isolated because Federated moderation seems to work quite well, Gab is/was (not even sure) a great example for that. Towards the end of Gabs Fediverse time almost nothing from Gab managed to get out of a small bubble of instances.

@cyberspook Twitter was Trumps main platform for years, he literally announced political stuff over it and only left because he was banned. As a populist (good or bad) you need a platform to reach an at least somewhat mainstream audiance and that's not Trueth social or Mastodon.
