@codewiz It's the same where I'm from in Spain, you can do all your shopping in the small shops without going to the supermarket, it's so nicer, specially when you go often enough and people already start knowing you by your first name.

Turns out "mesticheria" is a Tuscan word for small shops selling detergents, home maintenance tools, etc.The term derives from the Latin "mixtus", therefore it's a "miscellaneous store".https://it.wiktionary.org/wiki/mesticheria#italy #firenze
