Another implementation of my quick and dirty #NMEA parser in another very cool language. Thanks to @sotolf for the heads-up about #Nim

@sotolf I was watching a Steve Yegge video the other day about how he was leasning Ruby and there were times when he needed to figure out how to do something and, rather than look it up, he would guess. More often than not he would be right because Ruby did what he expected. That happened for me a couple of times the Nim today, probably because of familiarity with Python.

@sotolf I'm also pretty excited about all the stuff I haven't touched yet: functional programming, macros. It looks a lot of fun.

@sotolf @modishnouns Yes! :blobcatnim: :blobcatnim_3: :blobcatnim_old: Nim is on the up and up!This same thing happens with me so often, again due to familiarity with Python... but then there's also really non-pythony stuff as well that still just works™

@sotolf @modishnouns yeah, that's really cool - switch between how I call procedures depending on where I am because it feels different depending on circumstance... it's great!

@paul @modishnouns yeah, and some times it's nice to leave the parens off, or do the oop like thing, also makes operator overloading that makes sense possible :)
