As for your critique of musk in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vft7ARFb7oQ I hope you realize that this guy has been chasing success even before you became a youtuberhe has dealt with software and not in ways that you do but actually pioneering self-driven cars (not a big feat but commercialising it is)

@BrodieOnLinux Speaking as someone who has a particular dislike of the far left, Elon Musk said in no uncertain terms that he would only buy Twitter to shut it down.He's yanking a lot of people's chains along the way, but the apparent incompetence or mismanagement seems to me like he's doing exactly what he said he'd do.

@Humpleupagus @BrodieOnLinux I think it's funny that everyone assumes twitter is now understaffed based on the reports of ex employees. I seem to remember a senior level engineer admitting on camera he worked less than 4 hours a week. How many of these people were there before layoffs I wonder. How many after? I work 48 or more hours a week, and while I think less hours would be nice I would never expect to be paid what I am paid if I could only put in a half a days work every week.The issues that pop up on twitter may or may not be new. In that video he says you could watch a movie by clicking through tweets. Several years ago Facebook had a slave auction on live which seems a bit worse than a movie being published in 1.5 minute clips. I suspect issues like this were largely ignored in the mainstream, but now that twitter is being more carefully scrutinized people are noticing more things.

@BrodieOnLinux I agree I support the idea of free speech but how twitter is being run is not very good and since it is still closed source we can’t really know for sure if the algorithm isn’t biased politically but I don’t really care about twitter that much anyway because mastodon is way better
