@textfiles So what will users be able to do with this? The big core use of the Palm was - is, for a few of us still - personal productivity. Will this provide a way to use such apps, the point of which was to store information in them? Or is this just for games?

@textfiles I absolutely love archive's emulation pages 💛 They enable me to replay the games I grew up with when I still had my trusty Olivetti 286. I mean, I still have the computer, but I fear trying to turn it on might show an error message I'm not yet prepared for to come to grips with 😅 I recommend Ducktales for DOS to about everybody 💛

@textfiles we used to see a lot of palm pilots dropped off, but it's been awhile since one has come in. I always thought they'd make neat devices for creating simple sprites for gamedev. The last one we saw we dropped off at a computer museum.

@siderea An excellent philosophical question I've had to confront over the last decade. On one level, yes, games and transient toys/widgets are best for this if you want to experience them on their own terms. Applications and personal productivity, along with other similar programs, are mostly around for reference, memory, study of technique, and trivia.

@swetland The current batch of Palm software that's up was taken from a CD-ROM from 1999 or thereabouts with piles of items on it, apparently including yours.The reason I'm soft-announcing was specifically to get out ahead of some of these and get the historical links and other aspects into some of the entries.
