@strypey Wow. When I joined in 2017 I could see this thing had legs, because of the surveillance at the other places. Started linking it publicly on our websites even then. Looks like Iʼve a better track record than these tech “experts”. (I said Google Plus would fail when none of the tech press did, apart from Stowe Boyd. Was right that time, too.)

@jackyanI must have known instinctively that G+ was a non-starter, I just stopped using it long before it died. Maybe all the other social network projects (Orkut, Buzz, Wave etc) they sacrificed to Baal to get it off the ground was a clue? In hindsight, I suspect G+ itself was a smokescreen, designed to distract us from the integration of all their surviving services under a single account, thus to Datafarm us more easily.
