One of the things I like about #Misskey over #Mastodon is that you can react to posts with a range of emoji.(for those wondering how these work across federated systems, they're smushed down just to 'likes' on Mastodon)

@d@wao.wtf I just recently started using #calckey a fork of #misskey and I don't think I can go back to using #mastodon , ha ha. I'm addicted to it, so many great features and fantastic UI ! Unfortunately, the app availability for both are very limited:(

@lps@neo.voidworks.cc @d@wao.wtf great thing is that you can just use the mobile version of the site and it's functionally an app

@lps@neo.voidworks.cc I don't know about Calckey, but Misskey can be installed to the phone as a progressive web app. @d@wao.wtf

@kino@fedi.intkos.link @d@wao.wtf yes, this is the way I'm currently using it, but a friend pointed out that from a new user perspective it's not really ideal. Also, he didn't like the fact that it retains password info in that way.

@lps@neo.voidworks.cc I haven't really experienced any negatives from the PWA vs. a native app, personally. But, I suppose ymmv. Afa password retention.. don't all apps retain one's password? @d@wao.wtf

@kino@fedi.intkos.link @d@wao.wtf maybe he's only concerned because you can't opt-out, which means that if someone gets access to your device it's accessible without a password

@lps@neo.voidworks.cc But, that's what would happen with any app if someone gained access to your device and got through the initial login. I suppose you can always log out after use and log back in every time, and just not have it remember your password. Idk. @d@wao.wtf
