One thing I learned with the gryphon emojis is how to share common traits over multiple emojis better. Affinity Designer has symbols for that.It would help a lot if it had a color palette feature where you can use colors by a custom name, because abusing symbols for that is pretty awkward

@Shorono@misskey.shoro.no I want to be able to change color later on without going through different objects one by one. I've seen the color swatches, but if I change the color there it won't be updated anywhere. Unless I've used this feature wrong?

@Shorono@misskey.shoro.no I can't be the only one who missed this, can I? This menu placement isn't really good usability-wise IMO

@volpeon@mk.vulpes.one Like global colors in the pallette? https://affinityspotlight.com/article/make-instant-colour-swaps-with-global-colours-in-affinity-publisher/This is for publisher but designer has it as well.

@Shorono@misskey.shoro.no The menu on the right. Everything related to global colors is only accessible via this menu

@volpeon@mk.vulpes.one Ah the "window menu" yeah, a lot of windows/tabs have extra options hidden behind those. Might be worth to take a peek at them in the different windows.

Thanks to fedi I have learned that color palettes are already a thing and it works just as well as I had hoped. I didn't check that smol hamburger menu because in other programs, menus like these are generic tab actions (close, new tab etc) and aren't context-dependent. Not the best usability they got right there

@volpeon@mk.vulpes.one Not only is it context sensitive, but it is ALSO the generic tab actions. And only the generic tab actions if the current tab has no contextual options. Making it even more confusing if you don't know.

It even works with color gradients!
