I wrote a thing about how Elon has now admitted that the "content moderation council" was always a smokescreen to appeal to advertisers, but he never intended to listen to them. Also he claims he went back on his promises because activists promised not to try to "kill" twitter if he set up that council, but (he claims) they went back on that deal. Of course, that's all made up in his head, rather than reality.https://www.techdirt.com/2022/11/23/elon-admits-his-content-moderation-council-was-always-a-charade-to-hopefully-bring-advertisers-back/

@mmasnick The Content Moderation Council is ... us, judging by the amount of Twitter polls he's launching

@jbaert @mmasnick Is that the “content moderation and bot council”? No way those polls are not gamed.

@mmasnick Did you see the SpaceX Intern post about how managing Musk was a full-time job - and because at Twitter there are no people to manage him, we're all seeing the disaster that he is in living color? I frankly often wonder (other than his money and the cult of personality) if Tesla and SpaceX wouldn't be better off. Maybe now people can see he's clueless, he'll be removed. I can only imagine how much employee time is spent trying to manage and contain him. He's just like Trump.

@nomdeb @mmasnick It's not that he's clueless (lots of execs and owners are), it's that he's actively toxic.
