@splitshockvirus it really is! i thought just setting up the nginx proxy would be enough, but you gotta configure sock5 with proxy_urlworth it though for when am away from home, public wifi and all that jazz

@david I don't know what a sock5 is but my shit looks like this.the .conf is just a copy of the config used by the service. Does pleroma do something different? Or is the .conf the sock5 thing?

@david As far as I'm aware the nginx aspect should be the same for all implementations, which is why despite there being no documentation for misskey I was able to do the same thing as mastodon. The difficult part with mastodon is the documentation for setting up tor up is written for 18.04 so if you are not running that it will fail if you just copy paste.

@david That's actually annoying. Is there at least documentation to suppor that config, or is that something you had to figure out?

@splitshockvirus i pulled it from the docs but is kinda confusingfrom the small amount of understanding i have of tor, it does socks queries a over port 9050. at first i didn't have that set up and was seeing a blank pageswitching onions should between machines be simple enough, i brute-force hashed some onions to get them to start with 'gksudo'copying and chmod'ing the keys + hostname file should be enough

@david I don't know if tor does but nginx does.
