@newt Forcing use custom font DPI solves part of the issue, but as soon as I reboot, all goes back to.. brokenI also can't find any other issues like mine, maybe it's just meI suppose that I could reach out to Fedora's support (they seem to be rather.. kind!)if nothing works, I undo what I did by following that article

@millie @sam this really seems like DPI issue. Have you tried forcing specific DPI for X? Usually adding -dpi <N> argument to Xorg helps.

@newt @sam Having no luck, I tried changing the dpi to lower and higher numbers, but neither seems to make the difference

@newt @millie @sam I used to have an Nvidia GPU, and think I fixed dpi scaling like this:Inside the file /usr/share/sddm/scripts/Xsetup you can add commands that are run when X is started. Add one to set dpi with xrandr like:xrandr --dpi 96

@newt @millie @sam Above refers to modifying the /etc/sddm.conf.d/dpi.conf file, right? This Xsetup script is different.

@rizele @sam @millie doesn't matter. It passes the command line argument to Xorg.

@millie @sam last thing. Open the terminal and try “echo $QT_SCALE_FACTOR”. If it’s anything other than empty or 1, you need to find where it’s set and remove that.

@sam @millie him personally? I don’t have any opinion. But I consider Linux a disaster in the world of operating systems. It’s an enormous step backwards in literally everything, and we’re suffering through the consequences of its abhorrent design.

@newt @millie why such harsh criticisms bud? it is only because i got into linux and FOSS that i ended up on fedi, my background is not exactly IT or computer related. I find linux to be quite cool.

@sam @millie the fact that it's open source doesn't make it good. Linux kernel has a plethora of problems due to its bad design, the largest being bloat and the lack of compartmentalisation. Both can be attributed to the fact that Linus hated microkernels, probably still does.
