@imnuso Most of the 'trades' seem to be poised to make a comeback.Shit, I can't get plumbers to do shit like fix a leaky sink pipe because they want to do the big "whole house" jobs and they are so in demand that they can not take small jobs if they want.We convinced 2 generations of people to get MBAs 'n shit and now anyone who knows how to fabricate anything at all or build something with their hands is in massive demand.I told my kids that I'm not going to push college on them.

@NunyaBidness less severe but similar situation in Germany and many parts of Europe. Intellectual jobs and manual jobs should both have high entry barriers - like a test of willingness and ability - for the specific kind of knowledge to be acquired. Both are important and need to be more attractive for the right people. Currently higher education is portayed as generelly “better” and that’s just beyond stupid. It’s functionally different. Incomparable. Everyone knows but incentives are broken
