       @trwnh @natalie The virgin static site generator vs the chad copypasted html.I don't get the static websites generators either. I just make a "template", concatenate some things around, maybe make a script react to changes in the directory being served and it's done.Maybe I have too little demands (serving some images and text).

       @Zezin@fosstodon.org @trwnh@mastodon.social i think for a lot of people (myself included) it's just that it's ready to go and easier, especially for something like a blog where i'd want pagination, tags, etctotally capable of writing my own SSG or little templating engine or w/e, but hugo is available and has some nice themes, nicer than anything i could make

       im only just now realizing how good it is that this guy lists 300 pieces of the jenga tower he has built, and then finally admits "this is clearly overkill" when it comes to authenticating against twitter, as if the rest of it is just fine and normal and necessary
