       Tonight on #Chirper: Attempting to find out how Mastodon does account discovery. I can make ruby.social's search hit my local server, but it returns 0 results. Time to dive into the Mastodon source!

       Looks like this is handled by the ResolveAccountService, which then goes on to check if a domain is allowed/blocked. Guessing my randomly-generated domain is not in the blessed domains list ;) Ok, moving back to status posting + timeline views.
