       @james What kind of mastodon account information will tumblr be able to access, share , and monetize indiscriminately if a server or user federates with a tumblr account.        @tooterphone_tooterflute Of course! Tumblr, like any fediverse instance, will keep logs of every post it finds, just like any existing social network. Even if your instance is blocked they can still collect data anyway. Who knows? The source code is proprietary on that instance. This will be a big concern as this datamining will go beyond social media personalization and into real world consequences.I think @gabriel might be interested in this post.

       @james Not sure I want anything to do with #Tumblr or other for-profit social media with its adverts, commodification of everything, the culture of monetisation and cult of multi-level marketing. It is everything I hate about #USA culture. Please do not bring it here! Since #Twitter failed, new people came to #Mastodon and every other toot is self-promotion, advertising, selling, greed, predatory capitalism.This is social space not a market place.
