A couple more of my I2P sites should have shorter URL options soon.

@Korro Tor relies on volunteers to run relays and exit nodes with ports forwarded, but in I2P everyone is a router (even if ports are closed, though you won’t route as much). It is built around anonymous torrenting, IRC, and hidden services, whereas hidden services in Tor were added later. With Tor’s ongoing DDoS, I2P is more usable a lot of the time.

We tried to get a service running over I2P. It worked fine as a Tor hidden service, but when we tried with I2P we got a message that the service thought we were trying to connect with an incompatible browser. Could not troubleshoot it. Any idea what could be wrong? It may just be something specific to the self-hosted service we were using.

@pokkst Do you generate them like a vanity generator?

@NotMtth @zharv @pokkst This tool is for b32 addresses also you can send custom non b32 addresses to subscription list providers.

@Moneroxide @NotMtth @pokkst What are the difference in layman's terms? I noticed that this tool generates vanity addresses at a fairly high speed, which is kinda confusing, like, wouldn't this mean that anyone could generate existing active domains and steals them?

@zharv @Moneroxide @NotMtth .b32.i2p addresses are long, and are the equivalent of .onion addresses..i2p are custom domains that work like DNS. You subscribe to various services that provide mapping to .i2p domains, like http://notbob.i2p - It’s kinda like 8.8.8.8 for Google or 1.1.1.1 for Cloudflare DNS.Vanity addresses are for the .b32.i2p addresses.

@pokkst @Moneroxide @NotMtth then how did you made mymonero.i2p? is this like clearnet, a agreement with the "dns provider"?

@zharv @Moneroxide @NotMtth Not mymonero. MyNero.Yes, I registered it on stats.i2p then it was propagated to other router’s address books.
