       In the four and a bit years I've been on Fedi I've only ever (knowingly) encountered two people who were against Scottish independence, and one of those wasn't Scottish.From what I've seen, the recent influx of new people hasn't changed the Yes majority.If an independence referendum were held only on the Fediverse, it would be a landslide for Yes.I wonder why.#politics #independence #Yes #Scotland #scotpol

       @fitheach As an American, I fear Scottish independence would weaken the military capabilities of a key ally, so I would be a "No," but it is also not my place to say.

       @fitheach I'm sure there was info in the 1st #Independence campaign that showed that people who did research were far more likely to vote to leave the UKHaving respectful conversations is potentially part of that research. It's hard to do that on Twitter without the shouty folk getting involved. It's totally easy here

       @Cyclist Yes, that is correct,There is, I think, something else at play. People pre-disposed to come to the Fediverse are already the types to support independence.

       @Tron Actually, not possible, in the short to medium term. There aren't any suitable deep-water ports (for the Trident submarines) elsewhere in the UK. Something would have to be constructed.@52fighters

       @Cyclist Definitely. During the 2014 campaign Yes supporters were portrayed (on billboards & TV etc) as happy, excited and optimistic. The No supporters were shown as unhappy, fearing change.
