To my awesome followers: you'll notice I haven't followed most of you back. Let me explain my reasoning:1) If you followed me before adding a profile photo or writing a bio, it was impossible to know much about you!2) I tend to follow most people AFTER engaging in some conversation first. (This also helps keep my Home feed digestible and not overwhelming)3) Somehow I've gained a few thousand followers in 2 weeks, and simple lack of time prevents me from checking out all of your profiles š

@killyourfm I think point 2 stands by it self as a really good reason. I never understood people that followed to many. I have always preferred a smaller curated timeline back at the old place, and I intend to do the same here.

@killyourfm I donāt really get why people would even *expect* a follow-back on Mastodon. I follow interesting people. I donāt expect them to find *me* interesting, unless they do.

@killyourfm The level of interaction is sometimes too much for me here. I love it, but I can't follow up and that's why I'm also starting to apply the rule "at least one or two pleasant interactions before follow".

@killyourfm Youāre simply too popular ;-) But yeah, that all makes sense. I really enjoy the experience of hanging out in this new neighborhood and seeing all the people from that other place and organically reconnecting.

@killyourfm the lack of photos is a good one. When switching servers the new one will immediately start recommending the profile (I think) so good to also immediately re-add bio and pictures.
