@natebowling haha. Well, it seems to be shaking out that way.The only thing stopping me from doing that outright, is that I want to be really firm on personally knowing everybody directly on the instance. That is an important factor that lets me keep this a fun hobby and not a job. While I obviously know a lot of ECS due to the length of time I was in leadership, I certainly don't know them all, and there are some I wouldn't want on an instance I host.

@llarian @natebowling I hope that someday there is a Sounders and/or ECS instance. I'm keeping both my accounts right now as kind of an experiment on going back and forth and would presumably do that with a Sounders specific instance. I like the idea of my feed being nothing but that on one account.

@natebowling That said, I don't participate in any relays currently. If there end up being multiple Sounders/ECS instances, my plan is to setup a relay and reach out to the admins to see if I can get them to join it.

@Beaglehaus @natebowling Bear in mind that unless it were actually defederated, it wouldn't be just that. It would bring in content from the other servers just like any other instance does.

@ssfckdt @llarian @Beaglehaus idono it * has a sense of community* has a funding model (the sports team pays for it, easy to justify crowdfund a server for the fans)* most of the connections are with fellow fans rather than outsidersgetting teams to compete with eachother to all offer instances also seems like it would have positive externalities

Us supporters aren't always on the same page as the general fan base. 😂 So i think drawing it too small is a risk.I also think regional is one of the ones that makes most sense because there's shared community but you can still branch out to broader topics.Like, would I have to join a Sounders masto, a Seahawks masto, a Reign masto, etc. etc. etc.?

@jeffcliff yeah, i'm already wondering about mixing politics with soccer. but most of the other soundersites i'm finding here are probably on board with the former. But then there's today when I'm randomly watching the Grey Cup which probably few people I know are remotely even aware of.
