       Does anyone have any resources for/about girls being groomed into Islam? (i.e. To help stop a girl being groomed into the faith secretly and against the wishes of her family.)This is the situation with a friend of a friend. Looking for resources in how to bring it up without alienating her.

       @beccabei Not a parent, know nothing about kids, nothing about grooming in general and as a lifelong atheist, little about the attraction of religion either.That being said, I’ve seen cult or deprogramming experts suggest approaching the target of a cult by talking about other cults, and how they recruit. So not start talking directly about say, the Moonies, but bring up e.g. Scientologists and their methods, where there is overlap. I believe the idea is to plant the seed of critical thinking in the person’s mind, but without making the person defensive about their newfound “friends”. I have no resources at hand, but there are a lot of people out there talking about countering the influence of cults. I expect same methods should to a large extent work for recruiting efforts of organised religions as well.
