We should be learning from this example of putting everyone on the same server or website. Here in the fediverse, there should not be one solarpunk service, one furry server, one kink niche server. If we want our communities to survive, if we don't want to have to say goodbye to friends because a website stops working, we need to own the foundations of our meeting spaces.

We need more people to open up their own servers. Be it a dozen friends, a few tens or hundreds of people on a hangout, or a dedicated team managing a few thousand (<10k) folks on. We need people to decide to stop going for outrage and divisive reactionary public figures, and instead opt for supporting each other.

@Taris We need to identify each other by public key. Then you can find all the public keys who tag posts with solarpunk or whatnot, and when their server shuts down or sells out, they just switch servers and since you identify them by their public key, your side updates to their new server easily and automatically.
