@Sir_Boops Apparently SIP is very DNS-sensitive, i've found that out the hard way. Internal calls failed because the DNS resolve order was wrong.

@Sir_Boops In my case it did, because it tried to resolve the name of an internal device over the public DNS while it was glitch'd, so it would wait for it to time out, which took longer than it would for the call to fail.So trying to make a call just got stuck for a short while, then ended. Or it'd ring once, then fail when picked up.

@Sir_Boops I am! It was fine once I figured out ubuntu uses ASCII by default for postgresql which broke literately everything. That and smtp in the wizard does not use ssl, so have to set that up later in the config file.

@Sir_Boops I run it on a LXC container on my Proxmox host. I run my own email server, so I have this set to send emails from it via smtp.

@FlamingPaw Oh cool! I've not played much with LXC, always used full VMs and now I live by docker >...>So it connects across to your server to tell it to email itself? Lol

@Sir_Boops It was! And annoyingly, i kept ignoring search results mentioning the DNS, because i was testing things local-only with direct IP, and there was no way i thought DNS could have any impact.

@Sir_Boops I used to use full vms ars well, till I found LXC. Now all new things use erm!Let's say pubby.social wants to send an email, like password reset. It just tells my email server to send it instead.Setting up a server to send email /properly/ is harder than it seems, so I do it once in a dedicated place, and let all my things use that.

@Sir_Boops Yee, proxmox isn't the most pretty. But I prefer that myself. I use xen-orchestra at work which is pretty, but annoying to use because of it.As for this instance, it's literately just the base install. Nothing changed or personalised yet.

@Sir_Boops Xen is annoying. That's why I started moving our stuff to xcp-ng. Still xen based, but way better than citrix!PUBBYYYYYY!! When I finish it up, I'll open it up for anyone to register if they wish.
