       After months of patiently waiting, I finally watched The Menu.I find it weird to type the phrase “not fucked up enough”. As horror, it didn’t take enough chances. As satire of the world of haute cuisine, it’s palatable. Reminds me of a line from Nietzsche: “Almost everything which we call ‘higher culture’ rests on the spiritualization and intensification of cruelty.”A competent addition to the tiny subgenre of food horror. Underdone, but somewhat entertaining. Wait for streaming.

       I saw the trailer for this film and looked very pleasing for a horror movie. Is it worth the ticket admission regardless?

       One compliment I can pay The Menu is that the final “course” is definitely unique and memorable. Don’t want to spoil it, but it’s worth seeing, whenever you can. I wish the rest of the film could’ve been just as batshit.

       I honestly didn't know this was meant to be a horror movie. I thought it was more of a thriller, satire type deal. Seems fun enough and, at the very least, a pretty film in the way it's shot.

       @BlackWaterSails It’s black comedy, akin to American Psycho. While AP satirized ‘80s materialism, The Menu takes swipes at the world of haute cuisine.
