@MMA I bought several boxes of those vintage style Robert Stanley ornaments both last year and this year. They remind me of the few vintage ornaments we still have from when I was a child.I was very happy to find them.

Go get some now!They are available many colors, blues, pinks, pastels, and red, green, gold and black. From $39.99 down to $16 bucks, that's a deal I can afford! I got two of the pink varieties for decorating my dress form tree. I couldn't choose which one I liked better, so I took some from each of the sets. Almost done!

Pipe cleaners to fasten then; floral wire s too stiff. Three bows total. Long streamers on all.Four loops of the green side for the first bow. Three red loops for the next. One more bow of just two loops.Put em all together. Wire with more pipe cleaners and voilà!

Took a broomstick and arranged the streamers a little better and fluffed up the loops on the big bow. Then I put little bows in red and green all over the tree to balance the colors. These have a small floral pick wired to them. The pick really helps them stick to the branches. I insert the pick in-between the wires and the greens, so the bow doesn't fall off.

Now for the new ornaments from Hobby Lobby!So I saw these on FBMP 2 weeks ago at 2 for $25. A few were broken. I offered the full price asked. The chick accepted my offer but got weird: wanted to meet at the police station and wouldn't take venmo. She was also 40 minutes drive away! I asked if she could meet the next day; she didn't answer.Next thing you know, she sold them. ☹️I was happily surprised to find them at Hobby Lobby. On sale, they're the same price PLUS, none are broken!😁

@ARB Those ornaments are a pretty tight fit in the plastic as well. I broke one of them trying to pry it out of the holder. I super glued it back together and hung it on the tree.When they come down, they get wrapped in a paper towel and placed in a cardboard box.@SkatyG @MegasAlexandros @MMA

I am amazed that this little tree absorbed all 48 ornaments and you can hardly tell. I put up all the specialty ones first, color group by color group. I am a little OCD and I don't like too many colors next to each other. I love this assortment because there is a variety of shiny, matte, shapes, colors, and there's glitter. With me: If it sparkles, I'm buying!I only ALMOST fell into the tree three times this year; I consider that to be significant progress.

An aside on the tree trimming to say that I met the nicest people in Hobby Lobby.A married couple was behind me in line. They had huge medicine ball Christmas ornaments in their cart. I asked them where they were going to put them and they told me they were for their 4 Xmas tree lots in the area.I was right to buy a fake tree! Not only are there NO real Xmas tree farms in the area, but real trees are DAMN EXPENSIVE. The 9-ft tree that I paid $95‐$120 in DE for, starts at $250 here!!

But they weren't flashy. We talked about Christmas decorations businesses in the area and they told me that Christmas Warehouse was way over-priced.Obviously they could afford anything they had to sell, but they preferred Hobby Lobby. @BirdieLovvorn My theory is that the gift wrapping counts for at least half the gift. Beautifully wrapped gifts always get lots of oooohs and aaaaaahs! And besides, I love doing it. 😊 I have a closet filled with fine papers and ribbons. Christmas gift wrapping is the happiest season of the year...for me. Mini nutcracker time. I miss Bombay Company! I started collecting these at the turn of the century. I've only lost ONE to puppy eight years ago when he had his first Xmas and was teething.I lurk on ebay and pick them up when I can find them at reasonable prices. The ones made today are just junk!I have a FEW repeats in my collection, but not many. I have golfers, Santas, Shakespeare, an archer, a wizard, a Cossack, a beach goer, you name it!! Nutcrackers are all on! I didn't start to fall into the tree once this time. Maybe I'm getting my sea legs back!I took a look and decided that there's enough filler ornaments. I'm going to break out the star attraction but that will be in the morning. I'm tired and need daylight for this part. I want to light the tree but it's against the rules. I turn it on ONCE to check to see if any of the lights needs replacing or even just to be tightened up. Then it's OFF until It's trimmed!

I just finished the family room tree! I actually have 3 more Grinch ornaments to put on but they need a special kind of hook, one that’s heavy and won’t bend. I have the hooks in another box of ornaments that I haven’t gotten to yet. I will put up my foyer tree at Thanksgiving with my kids and one of those boxes will have the extra hooks. So the straggler ornaments will have to wait til then. Are you ready for the reveal?
