I've been working on #homeautomation #homeassistant for a while. I'm looking for a solid 4 button wall switch that I can use to trigger sequences over a #zibee network. Does anyone have recommendations before I spend my paycheque at Amazon returning a bunch of crummy switches?

@y3mz I haven't used it but this one at least works in HAhttps://community.home-assistant.io/t/zigbee2mqtt-tuya-4-button-scene-switch-ts0044/274735

@jeff @y3mz I have 3 of these around the house and they seem to be working well. Need to get them into the correct mode so the long press and double click work though. Battery life seems good to.

@y3mz ZHA or Z2M? Aqara has a bunch of switches. You can use the long press as a second layer.

ZHA at the moment, but all of this I'm very flexible on. I'll have a look at your suggestion : - )

@y3mz I like the 6 button Aaura rocker controller. It's battery powered, but there's a bracket you can mount on the wall and the controller itself attaches using magnets. Long battery life; haven't replace it yet! Can do click, double-click and hold actions. This is just a controller, not an actual switch/dimmer. However, their ZigBee stuff seems to work pretty well with Zigbee2MQTT and #HomeAssistant for #HomeAutomation

@y3mz More specifically, I got this one: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255800631220686.html which I wasn't able to see on Amazon. It seems to be a good #Zigbee controller for #HomeAssistant

I've never ordered from AliExpress. I once was working on an esp wifi offenciv deauther. Struck a conversation with a nice vendor for 1,500 of the ESP chips. Came close to accepting but I had no idea what to do with them.

@y3mz I'm afraid I'm too mainstream ;) but I've been pretty happy with the Hue dimmer switch. I also just got an Ikea Styrbar on a whim. Haven't really used it yet, just connected it while figuring out how to do my next mad automationist stuff. Feels sturdy and comes with a back plate for wall attachment.

Nothing wrong with mainstreaming. We all have our preferences of how to do things. I happen to choose the long hard roads sometimes.

@y3mz It's a controversial opinion but if you have US decora-style switches around then your best bet for finding something that blends in is probably #Hue dimmer switches. They're all #Zigbee battery powered remotes with support for click/hold/release actions and work out of the box with all of the ZigBee controllers including #Zigbee2MQTT and ZHA in #HomeAssistant.

@kevinbrownsilva I'm all about what works provided I have some semblance of kontrol. hue makes great products, but their hub is a source of frustration.
