       I read there are travel bans, driving bans...for a snowstorm!?        @adamasnemesis Alaska regularly has 4-5+ ft of snow, and the people who live there are practiced in living in that environment, and the public safety resources are available should things go wrong. The people of Western NY THINK they know what to do in 4-5+ ft of snow, and the public safety resources aren't nearly as readily available. Not to mention the more cars on the road, the more cars will be involved in the inevitable massive car pileup. Yes, it's authoritarian, but it's also necessary.

       @adamasnemesis That looks to be a remote area.Travel restrictions in a heavily populated area make sense when it come to snow storms. Very different locations. Eg.Interstate pile ups caused by whiteouts can be reduced/avoided when there are travel restrictions.
